What you'll do
- Build and maintain web applications using React and Node.js
- Create operator dashboards and interfaces for industrial control/monitoring systems
- Develop APIs and real-time applications to support Beltways OS
- Apply cybersecurity best practices throughout the software lifecycle
- Integrate with industrial automation systems (e.g., PLCs, HMIs, SCADA) to acquire and display telemetry
- Maintain code quality through reviews, testing, and strong engineering standards
- Document technical work clearly for handoffs and team knowledge sharing
- Collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced hardware + software startup environment
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Masters in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related major
- Reliably commute to the headquarters in Hebron, Kentucky
- Full-stack development - Able to ship production features across frontend and backend, from UI to APIs
- React / Next.js - Able to build production dashboards and UI components, manage state, and work within an existing codebase
- Node.js (TypeScript/JavaScript) - Able to implement APIs and real-time services with async patterns and solid code structure
- Industrial systems fundamentals (PLC/HMI/SCADA, telemetry) - Able to integrate software with industrial automation environments and reason about real-world signals/data
Nice to have
- Industrial cybersecurity - Familiar with securing industrial/IoT systems (networking basics, auth, least privilege, and secure-by-default practices)
- DevOps & deployment (Docker, Linux, CI/CD, cloud) - Able to containerize services and support reliable builds, testing, and deployments
- Computer Vision - Own end-to-end vision systems in production, from data collection/calibration to model/pipeline optimization for accuracy, latency, and robustness on real-world edge cases
- Machine Learning - Lead model development from problem framing through deployment, using rigorous experimentation, monitoring, and iteration to improve performance and reliability at scale
- Leadership - Can lead technical decisions, mentor engineers, and drive alignment across cross-functional stakeholders
- Project management - Can scope work, prioritize effectively, manage timelines/risks, and deliver milestones in a fast-paced environment
