What you'll do

  • Lead all builds, including prototypes, test equipment, and commercial products.
  • Prepare sub-units in the manufacturing facility to ensure site installations are staged for completion in a professional and efficient manner
  • Lead install of pilot systems and commercial systems at customer sites
  • Conduct regular maintenance, repairs, modernizations, and inspections of Beltways' systems to ensure they have effective and efficient operation, and conform to safety regulations and OSHA requirements
  • Assist in quality control processes for inbound and outbound parts and products, maintaining high standards
  • Provide feedback to engineering teams on mechanical, electrical, and controls designs
  • Maintain a clean and organized facility

Minimum qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Reliably commute to the headquarters in Hebron, Kentucky
  • Moving walkway installation - Knowledge and experience with escalator and moving walk installation
  • Comfortable with power tools - Knowledge and skill in the use of hand and electrical tools such as grinders, chipping hammers, and a multimeter
  • Electrical testing - Knowledge and skill in the use of electrical reading and testing equipment, hoisting and rigging equipment
  • Physical Requirements - Must be able to climb, crawl, stoop. Must be able to lift and carry tools and materials weighing in excess of 50 pounds and be able to raise and carry with assistance items weighing 200 pounds. Must be able to work safely in close proximity to moving and working equipment. Must be available to work on an on-call basis in cases of emergency.
  • Industrial work environment tolerance - May work in dusty and dirty places such as construction sites and other mechanical spaces where temperatures may exceed 100°F and equipment may be oily and greasy.
  • Planning skills - Able to plan installs and maintenance work end-to-end by scoping labor/materials/tools, sequencing tasks logically, anticipating risks (site conditions, access, downtime windows), and coordinating stakeholders so the job finishes safely, on time, and to spec
  • Leadership skills - Can lead installs/service calls end-to-end, set the pace and standard for safe work, delegate clearly, and coach others while keeping the team aligned on quality and timeline
  • Time management skills - Can plan the day/week, prioritize critical-path tasks, and consistently hit install/maintenance timelines without sacrificing safety or workmanship
  • Interpersonal skills - Works well with customers and teammates, stays calm under pressure, and handles feedback/conflict professionally on job sites
  • Communication skills -  Gives clear status updates, documents work performed/issues found, and escalates risks early with the right level of detail
  • Tech-savvy - Comfortable using digital tools for diagnostics and reporting (apps/tablets, basic software systems), and learning new tools quickly
  • OSHA knowledge - Understands and follows OSHA safety requirements (PPE, lockout/tagout, fall protection, hazard awareness) and reinforces safe practices on-site

  • Licensed mechanic - Kentucky Elevator Mechanics License
  • NAEC Certified Elevator Technician (CET) or equivalent
